An invitation-only, exclusive event, played out across two days at one of New Zealand’s finest championship golf courses, Wairakei Golf + Sanctuary.

The outright winner continuing on the “Road to Vegas”, locking in, alongside three mates, for an unforgettable golf experience in the world’s most exhilarating city - Las Vegas.

Flights, three nights’ accommodation, and a round at the iconic Wynn Golf Club. Nestled amidst the vibrant pulse of the Las Vegas Strip, you’ll have the best of Vegas right at your fingertips.

The Prize

Hosted in Taupō, in the heart of New Zealand’s North Island

Limited to those with a handicap of 21 or lower, enjoy exclusive access to Wairakei Golf + Sanctuary for the duration of the tournament.

Outside of playing, be treated to only the best hospitality, courtesy of Wairakei Golf + Sanctuary and the Two Mile Bay Sailing Club, branded merchandise, and organised local accommodation where required.

Tournament Format

  • Stableford

    Day 1: Everyone tees off from the white tees.

    Day 2: The top 40 move to the blue championship tees, staying in the running for the Road to Vegas.

    41–80 - the Average Joes - stay on the whites. The winner gaining free entry to the 2027 Taupō Golf Invitational.

    81+ face off in the Battle of the Bottom - also from the whites - only the top 10 will keep their place on the 2027 invite list. The rest? Cut.

  • Big Show Shoot Out

    At the end of Day 2, the top eight players qualify for a final showdown — a sudden-death playoff on the 18th hole.


    They’ll play it as many times as it takes to crown one outright winner.

    No ties, no sharing the glory — just one name on the trophy.

  • One Champion

    The outright winner is crowned the Road to Vegas — Taupō Invitational Champion - securing their ticket, with three mates, to a golf experience in the world’s most exhilarating city - Las Vegas.

    Flights, three nights’ accommodation at the Wynn, and a round at the iconic Wynn Golf Club. An unforgettable golf experience.
